Jenny Zappavigna is a highly experienced meditation teacher based in Sydney, with over 25 years of dedicated practice and teaching. She has guided individuals from all walks of life in discovering the benefits of meditation, helping them achieve greater balance, clarity, and inner peace.

Known for her calm and intuitive approach, Jenny specialises in leading participants into deep states of meditation, allowing the mind to settle into stillness and the nervous system to fully relax. Her sessions are accessible to both beginners and experienced practitioners, offering a genuine experience of inner silence rather than just technique.

At Yoga Day Sydney, Jenny will guide attendees through a deep state meditation, providing an opportunity to disconnect from daily stress and reconnect with a profound sense of inner calm and awareness.

Kabir Sattarshetty is a respected university lecturer and researcher in meditation and yoga.

Kabir will present a lecture on the roots of yoga, tracing its origins from the Vedic period through classical traditions to its global evolution today. He emphasises that yoga is far more than physical postures—it is a complete system for inner transformation and self-realisation.

A key focus of his teaching is the integration of meditation and Kundalini awakening, particularly through Sahaja Yoga. This approach highlights the spontaneous awakening of inner energy (Kundalini) leading to a state of thoughtless awareness, inner silence, and deeper connection with the self.

Kabir’s lectures offer both intellectual depth and practical insight, guiding audiences toward experiencing yoga as a living, evolving path to inner peace and higher consciousness

Lene Jeffrey (RMT) is a registered music therapist working in clinical practice at a special school for children and young people on the autism spectrum.

She is a lecturer in music therapy at Western Sydney University and in her current PhD research is investigating the use of the voice and meditation for integrative wellbeing. Through practise based residential training in Indian classic music including the use of Sanskrit mantras, slokas and positive affirmations, she has devised Active Voice Yoga as a participatory music and meditation method, presenting papers and workshops on this approach at a range of national and international conferences.

This workshop uses a simple vocal call and response format with traditional bija mantras, chakra related slokas (sacred poems) and classical Hindustani music listening for supporting an integrative meditative state of mental silence. No prior experience necessary to explore a simple and effortless music therapy based approach to meditation, mind-body balance and spiritual wellbeing.
