Joanna Bencke
Dru Yoga

Joanna is a long‑time Dru Yoga teacher, teacher trainer and lover of movement, music and embodied wellbeing. Drawn to the connection between body, mind and spirit from a young age, she first studied nutrition and psychology at university before travelling the world and eventually landing in India to study yoga and ayurveda — the moment her heart found its true home.

She completed her first yoga teacher training in India and later deepened her studies with Dru Yoga in Wales and Australia. Over the past two decades, Joanna has expanded her training with postgraduate qualifications in Dru Yoga Dance, Meditation, Yoga for Kids and Teens, and Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga, as well as Restorative Yoga, Yoga for Pregnancy and Birth, Yoga for Postnatal and Infants, Fertility Yoga and Thai Yoga Massage.

Joanna is a mum of three and works part‑time in a health research role. She is also expanding her skills in leadership and mentoring, bringing these learnings into the way she supports and uplifts the people she teaches and works with. She brings a grounded, compassionate and science‑informed approach to her teaching and loves sharing yoga with people of all ages and abilities.

Joanna is especially passionate about women’s health - supporting women physically, emotionally and spiritually through pregnancy, birth, postnatal recovery and the many transitions of womanhood
