Originally from Auckland, New Zealand and born of European/Indian descent. Shardae moved to Sydney in September of 2023 to follow her dreams of helping as many people muve as possible.

Gymnastics was her first love, but a later accident meant years off and redirected her love to other sports. In her later teenage years she found her new love with the art of Boxing, and this sport has been her foundation for helping create discipline in all areas of her life.

What comes with knowing the art of Boxing is the art of Breath, and knowing how to control your breathing is a very important part of all martial arts and especially when fighting. Learning from the best Performance Breath Coach in NZ; Dave Wood, Shardae was able to add this skill not only to her fight training but life in general.

After 15+ years of her own experience as an athlete, Shardae started her Personal Trainer, Boxing Coaching career in 2018. For the last 6 years she has been trained in teaching Strength, HIIT, Boxing, Reformer Pilates, Mobility and Performance Breath Work not only on an individual basis but also for group fitness and corporate environments.

Seeing the benefits of learning Performance Breathing in her own training, Shardae saw the breakthrough it could mean for her many clients/classes.

What I am teaching at Yoga Day - Sydney

Breathe + Connect (10 minutes)

Shardae will take you through the basics of learning to breathe and connect with yourself. Teaching you to box breathe, hack your vagus nerve to control your heart rate and bring you out of the Sympathetic (fight or flight mode) into the Parasympathetic (rest and digest mode). Your state refers to the condition of your mind and body. The way you breathe directly influences your state. Taking conscious control over your breathing will help you manage stress, improve your mental game and control your energy output. Slow controlled breathing calms the mind and the body by activating the parasympathetic branch of your autonomic nervous system creating instant relaxation and immediately reducing anxiety and stress. You will use breathing to promote recovery and alter your state of mind in real time.
